This is an important message for anyone with an email list.
First, if you're sending emails to your list from a Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, or other email address, you need to stop doing that now.
You should email your list from your own domain, ideally the same one people know you for. For example, we send all our emails related to this site from theimdojo.com. For our other websites, we do the same.
You need to authenticate the domain(s) you use to send your emails from to your list.
We authenticated our domains last year, so we are all set. When we create new domains in the future, we will authenticate them before we send any emails. It's one of the first things we do after registering a domain name, even before we start building a website.
Domain authentication is a series of technical steps you do. The purpose is to prove that emails that claim to be from your website really are from you.
There is a big problem called spoofing, where spammers and scammers pretend to be you and send emails that look like they came from you. Some people do this to damage your reputation by spamming people who didn't subscribe to your list. Some do it to trick people into giving up sensitive information by giving what looks like an official login link but is actually a link designed to collect your information for evil purposes.
Authenticating your domain is a good thing, because it will dramatically cut down on that type of abuse.
There's a lot of confusion out there about how to authenticate and who needs to do it.
Forget any numbers you may have heard. If you have an email list, you should authenticate your domain regardless of your list size.
We've put together a training specifically showing you the steps to get your email domain authenticated. It doesn't matter which email service you use, such as Aweber, GetResponse, or ActiveCampaign - you need to do this.
It doesn't matter which hosting company you use or where you register your domains. You need to do this.
You get step-by-step instructions on how to do the authentication process.
No sexy bullets for this one. This is not "how to get 1000 subscribers" or "how to write emails" or anything like that. We cover that in other courses. This one is exactly what the title suggests.
We will be adding more content about email deliverability to this course in the near future. You will automatically get those updates at no extra charge if you purchase today.
If you have an email list, you need to authenticate your domain if you want to make sure your emails get delivered. This course will show you exactly how to do that.
